Enfield Buns

Into 1½lb. of fine flour mix ½oz. of baking powder, rub in ¼lb. of butter, and add ½lb. of cleaned dry currants, ½lb. of caster sugar and one egg well beaten in ½ pint of milk. Make into a dough and put into tins, sift a little caster sugar over the tops and bake in a hot oven.
