How this edition works

Editorial methodology

Automation establishes coverage; hashes, fixtures and human review protect the source text and its exceptions.

Transcription

Source spelling, punctuation, paragraph order, emphasis and notes are retained. Printed recipe numbers are recorded but never used as unique identity because the book reuses some numbers.

Provenance

Each generated page records the legacy repository revision, source path, source checksum and normalized text checksum. Page scans are separately sequenced and reviewed.

Modern context

Safety notices, navigation and editorial explanation are outside the transcription and styled as interface. Corrections should remain attributable and reversible.

Discovery metadata

Search facets, canonical links, sitemaps and structured data are generated from the same reviewed content records as the visible pages. They do not add recipe claims, ratings, timings or ingredients that the edition cannot support.
