Coffee Cream Ice

To eight yolks of eggs add a large cup of strong-made coffee, a pint of boiled milk, and eight ounces of sugar; stir this over the fire until the eggs are set in the cream, and then strain the custard through a hair sieve; add half a pint of double cream; freeze and mould the ice.
